Very advantageous in the beginning, but eventually, it will take damage, so it's a way to have enemies chase you and die to a point. Your Stone Circles in a level (the Stonehenge looking things in each level) will actually damage enemies. Especially good around the generators, so you can spam them with Dispel without being overrun. You can pick them off with spells, or recharge, then go fight some more. So, if you cast Magic Wings, even in the water level, you can fly up onto raised areas, and most everything won't be able to reach you. Only Illusions can come up onto the raised areas in levels.

Just set and forget, and most of them will die, and you can just walk around, picking up resources. When you finally learn the Snowstorm spell (level 4 Air), that will kill almost all of the corporeal creatures in a level, except for illusions and phantasms. Remember that spat of levels you need to keep killing the creature generators over and over? Dispel will damage them.

If you hit them with enough, you should be able to melée them down in a few seconds.ĭispel is an excellent spell that works not only against both illusions (ghosty Air minions), but as well as those damned creature generators wizards will put in their realms. Wanna kill a wizard? Spam Mind Attack (mind level 2, aspect of mad dreams (gold chalice)) until their life is gone, then melée to death with your sword, with a backup of Boil Blood (fire level 2). If you want the maxes, they are in this guide: in section IV.2) Some spells, like Star Healing (one of your most important!), are only affected by some, so pay attention, and you can save some resources. There are max lists as far as how far you can push it available online, but some are better not completely maxing out. Once you've created a spell for the first time (*must* be exact recipe), you can modify the amounts (to a point) of ingredients to modify the stats of the spell. Number one is not only do you *need* your spell list ( ), originally in the book that came with the game, the amounts aren't really provided by the game, and you can modify spells to make them more powerful once you've successfully created them. Few tips from an original version player: I'm talking 3.5 floppy disk bought from a CompUSA in the mid 90's.
